Yuri, Mori graduated with a degree in vocal performance from Faculty of Music at Kyoto City University of Arts.
After serving as a reporter for various programs of NHK Kyoto TV and radio, she became a Singing Girl with the "Jolly Concert" program on NHK Education TV. At present, she gives concerts as an evangelical singer in Japan and overseas, delivering a message of hope to many people with her beautiful songs. She is invited to give a concert by many churches, halls, schools, companies, prisons, and reformatories. In the appreciation for relief concerts in prisons, she was awarded the Prize of the Head of Osaka Reformatory Jurisdiction (2002), and the Prize of the Minister of Justice (2007). She has had many concerts in various places abroad such as US, Brazil, NZ, Africa, Europe, Israel, Thailand, Mongol, Indonesia, China, Korea. Especially in Taiwan, she has had more than 250 concerts. She released Chinese and Taiwanese versions of CDs of her songs. From 2005 to 07, she gave relief charity concerts in Bangkok and Chengmai, Thai land, for the tsunami victims, and received a letter of appreciation from Chengmai Consulate General. She was the first Japanese to give relief concerts in the big-earthquake-stricken area of Sichuan Province, China, in 2008. She joined the first anniversary joint concert of Japan, China and Korea to represent Japan, which was picked up by the mass media. In 2009, she won popularity by appearing in the Ibaragi Rotary Club 50th Anniversary Concert for Challenged Children. (Inaugurated as a honorary member of Ibaragi Rotary Club) In 2010, she served as a M.C. at the Kansai Franklin Graham International Festival (at Osaka Castle Hall). She made a concert tour in Brazil in 1999, 2008 and 2011. Appreciating the achievement of her concert tour in 2008 to commemorate the Centennial of Japanese Immigration into Brazil, Sao Paulo sent a certificate of gratitude to Yuri Mori. In 2011, she became an honorary citizen of Bauru City, Sao Paulo. In 2012, she gained a good reputation by giving a nation-wide recital tour to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her debut as a gospel singer. She has been giving relief concerts in many disaster-stricken areas inside Japan for many years, including Hanshin-Awaji, Western Tottori, Unzen, Niigata, Chuetsu, Noto Peninsula, and Sayo-cho. She sang a solo at the January 17 Gathering for the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Memorial (Five consecutive appearances for three years since 2010). She had more than 60 relief concerts in the disaster-stricken areas in Tohoku. With her songs, she delivers relief to many broken hearts. Regular guest on Christian TV Program, "Harvest Time" for six and a half years Gospel Artist Awards in 1997, 1999 and 2003. Gold medal in the Best Album Awards in 1997. She also performed as a voice actress of an animated video and appeared on a commercial. She had a serial column in the Kobe Newspaper and appeared on the NHK radio program, “Radio Shinya-bin” in 2012. She has released 17 CDs, appeared on DVDs, and wrote three books and two joint works. DVD “Eternal Homeland” and “Samurai Who Read the Bible” are now on sale.
